What is Aavegotchi?

Aavegotchi is a crypto-collectible game built on top of Ethereum blockchain where participants can purchase and grow the characters termed as Aavegotchis. They are playable NFTs with DeFi, where each Aavegotchi has some sort of cryptocurrencies staked inside it. 

 

Aavegotchi is powered by AAVE DeFi protocol, where each Aavegotchi is  identical and rare and has unique attributes defined by a rarity score. All these are game avatars that can be used as DeFi collateral to earn staking rewards. Being a staked asset its owner can liquidate the tokens at any time.

 

Origin of Aavegotchi

Aavegotchi was created by Pixelcraft Studios, led by the CEO Jesse Johnson along with a number of coders and developers with experience in the NFT and DeFi worlds. Aavegotchi was officially launched in September 2020.

 

Anatomy of Aavegotchi

Anatomy of Aavegotchi is defined by four major components,

1. DeFi Collateral Stake
2. Traits
3. Wearable NFTs
4. Rarity Level

• Collateral Stake – Each Aavegotchi holds aave-backed ERC20 collateral or “aToken”.

The amount of aTokens held in the  Aavegotchi’s address grows over time. Amount of aTokens held in the  Aavegotchi is known as Spirit Force.

 

• Traits – Every Aavegotchi is assigned with several random trait values. Traits such as Energy, Aggression, Spookiness, Brain Size and Eye Colour will be assigned for every Aavegotchi. Aavegotchi’s performance in mini-games and rarity farming will depend on the level of traits it has. 

 

• Wearable NFTs – Apart from look, wearables boost Aavegotchi’s traits and rarity score. It enables Aavegotchi to perform better in mini-games and rarity farming. Wearable sets are collections of wearables that confer an additional bonus on the Aavegotchi equipping them.

 

• Rarity Level – Rarity level is based on factors such as traits, staked aTokens and equipped wearables. Value of Aavegatchi is mainly determined by its rarity score.

 

Gotchi Baazaar 

Baazaar is a one-stop shop to purchase Aavegotchis, in-game assets, wearables and consumables.

Aavegotchi’s Native Token ($GHST)

GHST token is used as the base ecosystem currency in Aavegotchi. It’s used for the purchase of on-chain Aavegotchi assets such as wearables, portals, consumables and collectibles. In addition, GHST can be used for staking and enabling players to vote in the DAO. GHST cryptocurrency holds a huge $126.7 Million market cap. One GHST crypto is equivalent to $2.03 USD as per today.

 

Mini Games & Rarity Farming – P2E in Aavegotchi

 

Playing mini-games and staking coins in your Aavegotchi increases its value over time. In a certain period of time, your Aavegotchi starts yielding you more aTokens. Players are rewarded with $GHST  tokens whenever they win in a mini-game or rarity farming.

 

Mini Games – There are a number of mini games  available which can be played using your Aavegotchi. These mini games will deliver an immersive, player controlled experience.

Rarity Farming – It’s a process, where players attempt to raise a rarest Aavegotchi and gets a reward for it. Rarity farming happens at regular intervals and the player with the rarest Aavegotchi will be selected and rewarded.

Aavegotchi DAO

A DAO is a decentralized form of governance, which allows token holders to vote in order to shape the way the organization makes decisions.

 

Aavegotchi follows in the footsteps of successful DeFi protocols such as Compound and Synthetix by following a process of “gradual decentralization”, beginning with the founding team, Pixelcraft Studios organizing a DAO-governed token distribution event (DAICO) and culminating in placing governance of Aavegotchi, including all game mechanics, smart contracts, and funding, under the auspices of the AavegotchiDAO

 

GOTCHIVERSE – THE METAVERSE OF AAVEGOTCHI

Gotchiverse is an upcoming action role-playing game which mixes the elements of real-time strategy and sandbox farming with playable NFTs to deliver an entirely new gaming experience. Players are able to farm ERC20 tokens, craft NFTs, explore the world and can do much more in the Gotchiverse. In Gotchiverse, land auctions are happening whereas a full version of Gotchiverse game is currently under development.
